Agreements amounted to 81 million euros are signed with KfW
The Ministry of Finance and the German Development Bank (KfW), in the presence of the German Ambassador, Mr. Rainer Rudolph, have signed today an agreement amounted to 81 million euros, with the aim of advancing reforms and accelerating the energy transition in Kosovo.
The package includes a loan of 80 million euros and a grant of 1 million euros, which will directly support the implementation of reforms in the energy sector, in accordance with the standards of the European Union and the Energy Community.
The Minister of Finance, Mr. Hekuran Murati, highlighted that this support will contribute to the modernization of the legal framework and increasing the flexibility of the electricity market, enabling further integration into regional and European markets, as well as promoting investments in renewable energy sources.
On the other hand, the Head of the Energy Division at KfW, Mr. Pablo Obrador Alvarez emphasized that this is the first program of its kind for Kosovo, which complements existing support and establishes a basis for further modernization and integration of the energy sector.
This agreement marks an important step towards building a more sustainable, secure and integrated energy system, in function of the country's economic development and green transition.
