By implementing these programs through current and future tenders in 2026 and 2027, Croatia will accelerate the achievement of the green transition goals.
The programs approved yesterday were prepared in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, with two of them being part of the Government of the Republic of Croatia's package for strengthening the resilience of the population and the economy.
At the session, at the invitation of representatives of the European Investment Bank and the European Commission, representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Green Transition presented the previously approved program "Decarbonization and Modernization of District Heating Systems" as an example of a well-prepared program. This is a plan worth EUR 80 million and is the result of intensive cooperation between the Ministry of Economy, the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Green Transition, and following the conclusion of the Government, a call for funding will be published in April.
